This week’s virtual quarterly RIXML.org meeting was hosted by Bloomberg. Michael Mayhew of Integrity Research Associates provided us with an informative update on how the current restrictions are affecting conferences, research budgets and payments, the ways in which sell-side firms are adapting their services, and buy-side perceptions regarding sell-side support during this time. A lively Q&A period followed, allowing member firms to discuss these results and ask follow-up questions. Executive Director Jim Ulrich presented the current state of US and EU guidance on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) ratings and explained reasons for increased interest in sustainable finance taxonomies in the marketplace. RIXML’s ESG Working Group has already begun exploring ways in which the RIXML organization could leverage its experience to add value to this emerging area.
